The Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) notified Bobsleigh Federation, athletics and cycling on the abolition of the temporary suspension of eight athletes from the competition, which was imposed on them because of the positive doping tests at meldonium, the official website of the Russian Olympic Committee ( OCD).

Suspensions removed from skeletonist Pavel Kulikov, bobsledder Nadezhda Sergeeva, athletes Hope Kotlyarova, Olga Vovk, Gulshat Fazletdinovoy Minzhulina and Andrew, as well as riders Anastasia Chulkov and Paul Yakushevsky. The last two of them is allowed to take part only in the training camp.

Earlier, Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko said that from the beginning of the year in the use meldonium, which included the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) list of banned substances as from 1 January 2016, were convicted of 40 Russians, among whom were the above athletes.

WADA April 13 stated that the content of less than one microgram meldonium in doping sample athlete donated before March 1, 2016, is a valid indicator. In addition, announced that the investigation will be continued in respect of those athletes who have admitted or have other proof that they used meldonium on January 1 and later, if the substance concentration exceeds 15 micrograms per milliliter, indicating that the recent application meldonium, or if the concentration It is between 1 and 15 micrograms per milliliter, and the doping test was taken March 1, 2016 or later.
