Moscow stadium “Dynamo” named after Lev Yashin – RBC

Central football stadium “Dynamo”, which is being built under the project “VTB Arena Park”, is officially named after the famous Soviet goalkeeper Lev Yashin.

As the F-Sport, an agreement on Friday, July 17, signed goalkeeper widow Valentina Yashin. His document was signed by a senior vice president of VTB Bank, the head of the “VTB Arena Park” Andrew Peregoudov, said Interfax.

The ceremony took place in the arena under construction in Petrovsky Park. On the stadium also appeared a plaque which indicates that the central stadium “Dynamo” was given “the name of a great goalkeeper Lev Yashin».

The opening of the arena is scheduled for October 22, 2017 – the day Yashin would have turned 88 years old .

The goalkeeper Lev Yashin played for the Moscow football club “Dynamo” and the USSR national team – Olympic champion in 1956. Yashin – the only goalkeeper who received the prize of the best football in Europe – the “Golden Ball”. This happened in 1963.

«VTB Arena Park” – a project of the complex reconstruction of the central stadium “Dynamo” and the surrounding area, as well as the construction of a city block, “Arena Park.” It combines 13 buildings, including the headquarters of the society “Dynamo».

The project will also be equipped sports park “Dynamo” an area of ​​8 hectares. Its territory is located on Leningradsky Prospekt and the stadium. There will be located Sports Academy “Dinamo”.
