The Greek parliament voted in favor of the second package of laws necessary for an agreement with creditors. It expressed support of 230 deputies out of 300, reports Reuters. At the same time 36 members from the ruling party of SYRIZA 149 did not support the proposed measures.

Parliament had approved the rules of bank restructuring, tightened rules for the confiscation of the mortgaged property, as well as relieve some legal procedures.

The first package of bills was approved by Parliament on 16 July. Accepted reforms involve changes in tax laws, as well as the field of social insurance and security.

The adoption of legislation is necessary to conclude an agreement with the European Stability Mechanism (ESM). According to the Greek finance minister Euclides Tsakalotosa, negotiations on the allocation of aid to begin on Friday, July 24 and will end in mid-August.

In the ruling Party of Greece had disagreements over support for reform. Against the signing of an agreement with creditors in Brussels were most of the members of the central committee of the party SYRIZA, including two government ministers. They drew the authorities’ attention to the fact that at the last referendum in Greece residents refused to support the claims of creditors.

One of the main opponents of the agreement was the ex-Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis. He resigned after reaching an agreement with the “troika”. Lost their posts and other senior officials who did not agree with the terms of the creditors.

The talks in Athens with creditors ended July 13. Under the agreement, Greece for three years will receive € 40- € 50 billion through the ESM, and another € 16 billion from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). In exchange, the authorities committed themselves to undertake the necessary reforms before August 7.
