Assad visited Moscow for talks with Putin – RIA Novosti

MOSCOW, October 21 – RIA Novosti. Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Tuesday night visited Moscow and held talks with Russian leader Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

“Last night on a working visit to Moscow, visited the UAR President Bashar al-Assad. held talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in a narrow format and expanded format,” – said Peskov.

According to Peskov, in the negotiations in an expanded format was attended by members of the senior management of the Russian Federation. “The negotiations were long enough, the subject of the negotiations is understandable,” – he added.

“Questions, of course, the fight against terrorism by extremist groups, issues related to the extension of the Russian operations to support the offensive of the Syrian armed forces. The President was in detail informed about the situation in Syria, about the future plans. As well as various aspects of bilateral relations” – Peskov said.

However, he did not specify whether it was about the future of Bashar al-Assad.
