FIFA gave Ireland € 5 million as a loan for the construction of the stadium – BBC

The International Football Federation (FIFA) has published a statement regarding the statements of the executive director of the Football Federation of Ireland (FAI), John Delaney, said RTE .

«FIFA has given Ireland a loan in the amount of € 5 million to build a stadium. At the same time, UEFA has also provided funds to the federation of this arena.

According to the agreement between FIFA and the Irish federation had to reimburse the loan in the event of a national team at the 2014 World Cup. Republic of Ireland did not get to the World Cup. In this connection, and taking into account the financial position of the federation, FIFA has decided to write off the loan, “- said in a statement.

Previous Director General of the Irish Football Association, John Delaney said his organization had received from FIFA € 5 million after the play-offs for access to the World Cup in 2010.
