BAKU, June 12 – RIA Novosti. President Vladimir Putin has arrived in Baku, where on Friday to take part in the opening ceremony of the first European games.
On Saturday, the Russian leader will hold bilateral meetings with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The meeting will discuss, including energy, and the situation in Syria.
In addition, the President will meet with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. The sides touched upon during the meeting issues of bilateral relations, as well as the problems of Nagorno-Karabakh.
At the end of the visit, Putin will meet with Russian athletes participating in the first European games.
The first-ever European games, which subsequently will be held every four years, will be held in Baku from 12 to 28 June. During the competition will be played 253 sets of medals in 20 sports.
