IBU announced the dismissal of the athlete because of doping – Chempionat.com

International Biathlon Union (IBU) announced the temporary suspension of the athlete’s competition, whose name is not reported due to the opened doping tests “A”, which gave a positive result.

IBU decided to suspend the injured athlete because of adverse outcome analysis of the sample of the athlete. The injured athlete, WADA and the respective national federation were notified in accordance with the IBU Anti-Doping Rules, in accordance with the WADA Code. Removal of an athlete is required and is effective immediately. In order to protect the personal right of the affected athlete privacy and the integrity of the results management process, IBU at this stage would not disclose the athlete’s name and nationality, according to a press release on the official website of the IBU.

The press release stated that the Ukrainian Olga Abramova , whose doping sample “A” gave a positive result on mildronat, refused opening the “B” sample, and a hearing on her case will be scheduled for the near future.
