Russia lost the final in overtime Youth World Hockey Championship – RBC

Russia in overtime lost the final of the Youth World Hockey Championship

The Russian national team won silver Youth World Hockey Championship. In the final, the Russian team with a score of 3: 4 lost to the national team of Finland. The winning goal in the second minute of overtime, scored Kasperi Kapanen.

In the first period the Russian team has implemented the majority. After removing earned by Finnish goalkeeper Kaap Kyahkenenom, the Russian team entrenched in another area, and captain Vladislav Kamenev sent the puck into the net after the transfer of Ivan Provorov.

In the second period, the advantage was on the side of the Finnish national team, but despite several scoring chances, equalizing for the hosts of the championship and could not. In one scene, the puck hit the goal post of Alexander Georgiev.

The Finns have recouped immediately after the second break. Russian hockey players lost the puck in the central zone, Georgiev unsuccessfully rolled out of the gate, and Patrick Laine equalized.

Even score lasted less than one and a half minutes – almost immediately after the goal Andrew Laine Svetlakov brought the Russian team forward. Russian striker intercepted the puck in the middle of the court, went into another zone and not coming close to the goalkeeper, threw it into the top corner.

A few minutes later the Finns again equalized. Russian defender Alexander Mikulovich in the confrontation with the defender fell and hit his face on the board, it took him a few seconds to get up, and this time the Finns enough to realize the resulting numerical advantage in attack. Laine of gate sends at Sebastian Aho, who threw into the near corner before there moved Georgiev.

In the last minutes of the match between Russia twice earned removal, and the second most Finns realized. One second before the ice came Dmitry Sergeev, Mikko Raptanov stick framed after throwing Willie Saarijärvi and sent the puck into the net.

The Russians were able to recoup in just 6.9 seconds before the end of normal time. At this point, Valery Bragin already took a shot, and the Russians played six against five opponents. Goal turned out similar to the one that scored Raptanov – after a shot from the blue line Svetlakov in commotion at the gate substituted a stick and puck flew into the net by the time the cast had not seen Kaap Kähkönen.

Overtime lasted fifteen minutes. In the second minute of extra time the Russians lost in his area Kapan that the puck went behind the gate, there was rolled out on the snout and sent the puck into the net. Georgiev did not have time to move into this corner, and Kapanen actually threw the empty net.

The third place was taken by the US team, which with a score of 8: 3 defeated in the match for the bronze Swedes.
