The first-ranked Serb Novak Djokovic won the Australian Open 2016. For 28-year-old tennis player, this is the sixth title at the Australian Open after winning in 2008, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2015, and the 11th in the tournament “Grand Slam”.
In the final mast Djokovic beat Briton Andy Murray in three sets with a score of 6: 1, 7: 5, 7: 6 (7: 3). The fight lasted 2 hours 52 minutes. Account tennis full-time confrontation became 22-9 in favor of Djokovic.
Murray four times reached the final of the Australian Open – in 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2015. He is also a champion of the US Open-Wimbledon in 2012 and 2013.
Meanwhile, Russian Elena Vesnina in tandem with Brazilian Bruno Soares won the mixed doubles. In the finals they defeated an American Coco Vandeweghe and Romanian Horia Tekeu with a score of 6: 4, 4: 6, 10: 6.
Vesnina won the first tournament “Grand Slam” in the mixed doubles.
