MCM 2016: Russians again second – KHL

The victory against Finland ended the World Youth Championship (for players under 20 years old), held in Helsinki. In the final match of the Finns defeated the Russians – 4: 3.

Thus, the Finns regained the league title won two years ago. All in all, this victory was for them to fourth in the history of the competition. The Russian team, like last year, was the second.

A few hours earlier was a match for the bronze medal. They went to the Americans, big beat the Swedes – 8: 3.

The championship was a record attendance for the tournament that took place in Europe. Total in the stands of the two arenas in Helsinki visited 215 225 spectators – an average of 7174 per game. The absolute record youth championship was established in 2012, when Calgary and Edmonton stadiums the games observed a total of 453,282 viewers.
