On Wednesday, January 13 in Ruhpolding, Germany started the next stage of World Cup Biathlon. The first program number was listed in the schedule of the men’s race by 20 kilometers for men. It acted just six of our athletes, and finally came to us luck in the form of a conquered our biathlete medal.
The leader of our team SHIPULIN Anton made a mistake on the four shooting range and took third place in the final protocol. His only two ahead – this Austrian Simon Eder, who became the second leader of the World Cup and the Frenchman Martin Fourcade. The winner went the distance in 50 minutes 53.9 seconds, the silver medalist from Austria by 17.5 seconds behind, while our SHipulin located in 28.9 seconds on the Frenchman.
In the top ten were two more of our athletes. Maxim Tsvetkov clean shot out for 4 abroad, but has lagged behind the course of 58 seconds, and the fifth, and Evgeny Garanichev took sixth place with a delay of 1 minute 7 seconds.
After the race SHIPULIN Anton shared his impressions of his good result , told the media service RRF:
– Today has been run better than the previous stage. Two days of Alexander Vladimirovich Kaspiarovich worked on shooting. Today, I tried not to dwell on it. I think that after the last unsuccessful races, today I worked on shooting satisfactory. We will try to work hard to make it easy to adapt to any type of routes in the future.
Note the progress of our athletes and head coach of the Russian national team Rico Gross:
– Why last week, the team performed not too successful? On the last stage we were in Oberhof and Ruhpolding not (laughs). This, of course, a joke. In some sense the guys did not have enough competitive practices prior to the fourth stage. Training is no substitute for competition. Already in the pursuit race after a sprint Eugene Garanichev and Maxim Tsvetkov looked much better. We did a good job, which gives the fruit. The children added.
Now, tomorrow at the start of the 15-kilometer individual race will go woman. From us run:
№14 Olga Podchufarova
№33 Daria Virolainen
№42 Catherine Yurlova
№71 Anastasia Zagoruiko
№95 Catherine Shumilova.
