The head of UEFA, Michel Platini issued a statement in which he announced his intention to appeal the decision on his suspension from football activities for 90 days. However, the Frenchman was suspended by FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter and Secretary General Jerome Valcke this organization. The reason was the suspicion of corruption against officials. The period of ineligibility may be extended, but not more than 45 days. Platini statement was published on the official website of UEFA.
This afternoon I was informed about the decision of the FIFA Ethics Committee to suspend me for 90 days with immediate entry into force. In the case of this decision, which I, of course, challenging appropriately in due course, there was a deliberate leak of information, and today I have already stated my opinion on the matter.
I reject all the charges against me, based entirely on the imaginary and surprisingly vague arguments. In fact, the wording of these allegations merely states that “it seems there has been a” violation of the Code of Ethics of FIFA and that the decision on the merits can not be accepted immediately.
Despite the ridiculous nature of what is happening, I I refuse to believe that it is – a political solution, hastily taken to tarnish the honor of the eternal protector game or ruin my candidacy for the presidency of FIFA.
I want everyone to know about my attitude to what is happening . More than a sense of injustice and a thirst for revenge, motivates me a feeling resolute call. I am more than ever was set up to defend himself before the appropriate judicial authorities.
I want to once again most understandable way to emphasize that dedicate themselves to prove the purity of their intentions. Today I have received numerous messages of support from national associations of UEFA and other confederations, and they inspire me to continue to serve the interests of football. Nothing will make me take off these obligations.
