After reviewing all the facts and circumstances leading up to the tragedy, investigators determined that it was Vadim Timofeev made to the management of the aircraft crew, who had no right to perform solo flight as not finished completely retrained to operate the ship Yak-42. There was also an examination of the state of the aircraft, which confirmed its full serviceability.

Note that this information TFR representatives voiced in April of this year, but finally the investigation was completed only recently. A criminal case has been referred for confirmation of the indictment and subsequent transfer to the court for consideration on the merits.
