Independent Commission World Anti Doping Agency (WADA) has accused Russia of concealing doping system and recommended that the International Athletics Federation (IAAF) to suspend Russian athletes to participate in competitions. According to the report presented in Geneva, Moscow anti-doping laboratory destroyed almost 1,5 thousand doping tests athletes three days before the test before the Olympic Games in London in 2012.
The reason for the investigation served as the film of the German channel ARD and posts British newspaper Sunday Times, which alleged that the majority of Russian medal winners of major tournaments between 2001 and 2012 had a suspicious doping test.
In this regard, WADA recommended IAAF to disqualify the Russian Athletics Federation, to withdraw the license of Moscow anti-doping laboratory and prevent Russian athletes at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
The findings on Radio Sputnik said the executive director of the National Anti-Doping Organization (RUSADA) Nikita Kamaev.
” At present the conclusions that we can see – this is a very preliminary report. We are definitely going to explore fully what the Commission will publish. But from our point of view, these conclusions are unsubstantiated and declarative “- Nikita said Kamaev.
He noted that an independent commission WADA can not take a decision on the disqualification of the Russian Athletics Federation.
“Independent Commission WADA might have something to recommend, but as itself WADA – World Anti-Doping Agency, to take the decision to withdraw the accreditation of the national federation and the more international are not allowed. International Federation may cancel the accreditation only the International Olympic Committee. Such cases were very few in the history of the Olympic movement. With regard to the national federations, then, indeed, sometimes they lose their accreditation for various reasons – procedural violations, corruption, that is, the reasons are innumerable, but it is the exclusive prerogative of the international federations, “- explained Nikita Kamaev.
Meeting the executive committee and board of directors of the World Anti-Doping Agency, which will consider the results of the investigation of an independent commission, to be held next week in Colorado Springs (USA). According to Nikita Kamaeva, where decision will be taken on the conclusions of the Commission.
” When the Commission began its work, it was announced completion date of this work – December 31, 2015. Mr. Pound (committee chairman Richard Pound – Ed.) Said that as soon as possible all will be considered. Thus, one and a half months earlier they finished their work, “- said Nikita Kamaev.
