IAAF EAA requests to clarify new information about doping in athletics – RIA Novosti

MOSCOW, August 2 – R-Sport. President of the European Athletics Association (EAA), Sven Arne Hansen asks the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) to clarify the situation with regard to new information about doping in athletics.

On Saturday, a new film ARD doping in athletics . It argues that the channel and the publication Sunday Times received database IAAF, which contains more than 12 thousand tests about 5000 athletes from 2001 to 2012. According to ARD and Sunday Times, one-third of the medals of the Olympic Games and the world championships in endurance competitions during this period was won by athletes with suspicious data doping tests.

World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) announced that data from the ARD film will be transferred to an independent commission WADA for further investigation, as they require careful and quick test.

“The statements shown in the film, are a cause for deep anxiety. EAA shares the concern of WADA and the IAAF calls to clarify the situation and to intensify efforts to fight against doping, “- the statement says Hansen, quoted by the press service of EAA.
