Team USA defeated the Finns in the first match of the World Hockey Championship – RBC

US team defeated the Finns in the first match of the Ice Hockey World Championship

Team USA won the opening match of the FIFA World Hockey Team Finland with a score of 5: 1 and led the group B, in which the acts and the Russian national team. In group A, the first leg of Canadians with a score of 6: 1 defeated the Latvian team. The Russian national team will open the World Cup match against Norway. The meeting will begin at 21-15 Moscow time.

The score of the match USA – Finland at the end of the first period opened Steve Moses, who received the puck in the center of the area, slipped between two defenders and threw a short distance past the goalkeeper. Finns played in the beginning of the second period – a very similar puck scored Yyurkki Yokipakka.

The first half time the teams played on equal terms, and then the US team managed to throw two quick goals, and that the whole struggle is over. First Dan Sexton wins the puck from an opponent in their zone, he ran one on one, and though he beat Pekka Rinne could not, Matt Hendricks was able to finish off the puck into the net. But two minutes later the very Sexton scored after transfer Tori Krag, and that for Finlyadii all over.

In the third period, Nick Bonino made the score 4: 1, and two minutes before the end of the match Hendrix scored twice, thrown the puck into an empty net.

Team Canada game against Latvia was given much simpler. By the twenty-third minute, the score was 5: 0 in favor of the Canadians after the head of Nathan McKinnon, Matt Duchene, Tyler Toffoli double and Jason Spezza. Kaspars Daugavinsh played one goal, but the puck is, of course, not solve anything. The final score of the match set the captain of Team Canada Sidney Crosby.
