MOSCOW, December 3 – R-Sport . President of the Confederation of Football in North and Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF) Alfredo Javito and president of the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) Juan Angel Napout arrested on Thursday in Zurich, refused to extradite to the United States, the official website of the Swiss Federal Office of Justice (FOJ ).
On Thursday, it was reported that Swiss police conduct a new series of arrests of officials of FIFA taking place these days in Zurich, the executive committee of the organization. The arrests were initiated by the Ministry of Justice of the United States on charges of corruption. Media reported that police arrested and Napouta Javito.
FOJ confirmed this information and said that the two officials refused immediate extradition to the United States. Thus, FOJ will ask the US authorities to give a formal request for extradition of 40 days.
Earlier FOJ informed that on Thursday in Zurich police arrested two FIFA officials on charges of taking bribes in the millions of dollars sale of marketing rights of football tournaments in South America and the World Series, put forward by the US authorities.
