Clubs Crimea asked UEFA to allow them to participate in European competition

Representatives of the UEFA (Union of European Football Associations, Eng. Union of European Football Associations, UEFA) made a study visit to the Crimea. Official delegation headed by members of the executive committee of the organization Frantisek Mircea Sandu and Laurinitsem, inspected the infrastructure of the Crimean leading clubs – Simferopol and Sevastopol TSC SKCF Sevastopol, and met with the local football community.

– UEFA representatives were satisfied what they saw in the Crimea – told “Izvestia” president of Regional Football Federation Crimea Nicholas Guest. – They got acquainted with the infrastructure, made their remarks. The final decision on the future of the Crimean football will be made at UEFA Congress in Vienna on March 24th. It is planned that the representatives of the Crimea will be invited to it.

UEFA delegation approved the draft of the championship of the Crimea, which involves the creation of two championships – youth and adult. In the youth championship will be attended by 16 teams (players up to 19 years) who will play each other in two rounds. In the adult championship will participate 8 clubs that in four rounds of the tournament will determine the winner.

In this case, the concept proposed by the Crimean officials, implies that the winners of the tournament will be able to participate in European competition – the Europa League and Champions League. Representatives of the Crimean football focus on this issue UEFA delegates’ attention, which, in turn, promised to consider this initiative.

– We have directed the attention of the League at the possible participation of the Crimean clubs in European competition. Our position has been heard. UEFA delegates promised to consider the proposal – continued guests. – With regard to the domestic championship, we are able to organize tournaments with the participation of both professional and youth teams. At present, the main question is, who will be engaged in financing.

It is expected that the obligation to finance the competition and the creation of all necessary regulations officially take over the League. To direct the tournament is planned to create the United Federation of Football Crimea (BFFD), which will include RFFK and the Football Federation of Sevastopol, which is a separate entity.

Since the beginning of season 2014/15 in the area “South” Russian second division championship played three Crimean club: SKCF Sevastopol, TSC and “Pearl” (Yalta). However, after protests from the Football Federation of Ukraine (FFU) UEFA banned the team played in the championship of Russia with the January 1, 2015. The Union drew attention to the fact that football in the region need to preserve and develop.

The Executive Committee of the Russian Football Union (RFU) has taken into account the requirements of UEFA and ruled Crimean clubs from the Russian Championship . Otherwise RFU threatened a temporary exemption from FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football, Eng. Federation Internationale de Football Association, FIFA) and, consequently, in the future could follow ban on teams across vertical and club teams are not only official, but also in informal international tournaments.
